New Year's

Happy New Year's! This card is stunning in real life with the silver glitter paper. This shot doesn't really show the bling. But, anyway, the New Year stamp is one of the new stamps offered in Stampin' Up's! single stamp collection. This is a fun card and easy card to make since you need only to heat emboss the focal image and then assemble your layers. I did use the big shot to trim the scalloped edge on the focal image, then added a few crystal gems and silver cord to finish it off.

You can shop anytime at my on-line store www.ediestamps.stampinup.net. Thank you! Wishing you the best in 2013 and, Happy Stampin'! EdieB

Sweet Threads Three Ways

Hello Stampers. Today, I have for you Stampin' Up's! new cross-stitch Sweet Threads Simply Sent kit which you can order from the Spring Occasions Mini Catalog beginning January 3. This kit includes supplies to create eight cards including, Lucky Limeade and Primrose Petals pre-printed cards, die-cut patter pieces, thread and needles.

I like the polka dot pattern and colors of the pre-printed cards, but using a flat, single-layered card is not for me; so, I did what paper crafters do -I pulled out my Stampin' Trimmer and cut them up. Here you will see the results of my destruction. I like that I could mix the two colors and added Basic Gray cardstock for a nice neutral contrast, along with 1/4" Stitched Grosgrain ribbon and Silver Basics Designer Buttons as embellishment.

The die-cuts included in the kit are a scalloped rectangle as seen on the card to the left above. However, I actually sent the focal images for the other two cards through the Big Shot. I was able to die-cut them using framelits after I completed the cross-stitching. I like the variety of shapes for the focal images.

Here are closer views of the three cards. You will be able to order this kit as well as everything else in the Spring Occasions catalog beginner January 3. In the meantime, check out the Clearance Rack and shop now at my Stampin' Up! web site www.ediestamps.stampinup.net
